Responsible for preparation of patient and staff meals. Prepares meal according to department recipes and HAACP guidelines. Also to assist in special assignments. Perform all duties necessary to maintain a sanity infection free environment.


Education: High School Diploma

Licensure: City of Chicago Food Managers License, Illinois Department of Health Food Workers Certification

Experience: 5 year kitchen experience

Communications Skills: Understand, communicate, and carry out food service functions

Computer/Typing Skills: N/A

Supervisory Responsibilities: Evening, weekend shift in absence of both Director and Lead Cook.

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Stand and walk for extended periods. Push and pull abilities.

Working Environment: Varied temperature, damp, slippery, possibly around dangerous equipment.

Continuing Education: Attend the initial hospital orientation upon hire. Attends and maintains the annual mandatory inservices as defined by hospital.
